South Texas Run, Day 1, 2 & 3 New Lights On 2008 Goldwing • Headed South • Courthouses • Texas State Parks • 01-05 To 09-2022

For my first day of Motorcycle traveling I stopped in Joshua Texas to get some maintenance done. Thanks Paul! I stopped for the night at the Thunderbird Motel in Hillsboro Texas.
The next day I got a call from one of my clients that I needed some work done, so I stopped in College Station Texas and grabbed a hotel there. I was in college station Texas for two days, I got some work done for my client and I waited out the rain.
This is where my South Texas motorcycle run really begins, I make my way south to the Waller Texas County Courthouse in Hempstead Texas. It was Sunday and I was not able to go inside. The bell tower is the most interesting part at this courthouse that I found.
Afterwards I headed to the Austin Texas County Courthouse in Belleville Texas. The Austin Texas County Courthouse is not one of the best looking courthouse is in Texas, it’s small and square. The traffic splits around the courthouse, which makes it very busy. But the downtown square area has plenty of businesses and it looks very cool.
I got a really nice surprise, I was not expecting the Old Austin Texas County Jail to be open, which it wasn’t. But there were Boy Scouts doing cleaning in the upper jail cells and they let me in to look around. They have turned this old jail into a museum and if you ever get a chance to see it it is very cool to see and learn some history about the area.
Next I went down to San Felipe Texas to check out the San Felipe de Austin Texas Historical Site and the San Felipe de Austin Texas Museum. Texas began as a state of Mexico and If you really want to know how Texas got started, the history and war with Mexico, this is the place to go.
Nearby I camped out at the Stephen F Austin Texas State Park, this is a really nice park to camp out and visit.
