Special Announcement 05-27-2017

I’m Launching Patreon Web Site today!

What Is Patreon? https://youtu.be/L3VF1oeL66o

There are all kinds of expenses that go into my website and video productions. From the cameras and editing equipment to website hosting, email services, gas, and maintenances, everything adds up. I make a small amount from ads on YouTube and my website but its not enough to cover the expense of keeping it all up. It’s a common misunderstanding that I have sponsors. If that were the case, I wouldn’t be here on Patreon. I self fund everything and always have.

Basically for the past five years I’ve had three jobs. Job one is all the stuff you see on Lone Star Rider (which doesn’t pay) and job two and three is the stuff you never hear about (but pays the bills).

Lone Star Rider is my passion and has become a serious full time, 60+hr a week job. I love it but it’s not sustainable and I can’t continue to balance all jobs.

I want to make Lone Star Rider my full time job. I want to watch it grow and help others take on their dreams. I see two ways of making this a reality.

The Preferred Way – With your help we continue to focus on real, personal experiences and authentic recommendations.

The “Other” Way – I load up our site with ads, promote the latest cell phone and make videos that are paid endorsements. This isn’t what I want and I don’t think you want to see this either.

I have a discrete tip jar on my site but recently, I have kept getting suggestions that Patreon would be a much better platform to help support the site. After much deliberation and research…I totally agree! There are all kinds of expenses that go into my website and video productions. About Lone Star Rider

I love traveling and seeing new places and making new friends. And the best way to do it is hopping on my motorcycle and hitting the open road. I love that feeling and excitement of riding a motorcycle. Catch Ya On The Road!!! …… Rex

  1. I feel your pain!!!! Our podcast “DawgHouse Motorcycle Radio” is in much the same shape. An effort of love not capitalism sadly. We have been using Patreon for about 2-3 years now and have found little success…. I wish you much more success then we have had, I really do!
